    News

Revenu Québec data now available to researchers
Revenu Québec individual data are now available through the ISQ’s Research Data Access Services, and eligible researchers can request access to them. These data can also be linked with other administrative data already available at the ISQ, such as health or education data, as well as with ISQ survey data. Data for authorized projects will be made available in the ISQ’s secure environment, in compliance with the highest standards regarding the protection of personal information.

    Mandate

The Institut de la statistique du Québec (ISQ) was mandated by the Québec government to implement a simplified process for accessing certain information held by public bodies for research purposes. This information is established by orders in council and is referred to as “designated information”. The designated information held by the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux, the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec, the Ministère de l'Éducation,  the Ministère de l'Enseignement supérieur, and Revenu Québec are currently available for research purposes.

The implementation of this process is an initiative that reflects the government’s commitment to creating an environment that promotes greater access to research data. These data have great scientific and economic potential, and promoting their use is essential to achieve research excellence in Québec.

In future phases, research teams will also be given access to designated information held by other Québec government ministries and agencies in order to foster research and advance knowledge in various areas.
