Association of hyperactivity-impulsivity and inattention symptom profiles with suicide attempt: an 18-year population-based cohort study

The aim was to investigate the longitudinal associations between childhood profiles of ADHD symptoms (i.e., hyperactivity–impulsivity and inattention) and youth suicide attempt in males and females, separately.

Associations between childhood receptive vocabulary and suicide attempt during adolescence and young adulthood

Children's language skills are key to good socioemotional development. Higher childhood receptive language scores were associated with lower internalizing behavioural problems, but little is known about their association with later suicide risk. This study investigates associations between childhood receptive vocabulary scores and youth suicide attempt.

Factors Associated with Young Adults’ Career Information Seeking Behavior and Sources of Information

This study aims to identify the factors associated with career information seeking behavior in a sample of 1,400 young adults in the province of Québec, and the information sources they used when collecting information on jobs, career possibilities, further education or training. Results show that more than half of respondents consulted two sources or more and that the most used information sources are personal relationships and educational institutions.

Investigating variations in paid parental leave uptake among mothers: a Canadian longitudinal population-based study

This study examines how child, maternal, family, and health-related determinants contribute to variations in the uptake of paid maternal leave.

La professeure Tamarha Pierce, de l’école de psychologie de l’Université Laval, à la demande du Regroupement pour la valorisation de la paternité, a analysé les données de l’Enquête québécoise sur la parentalité portant sur la relation coparentale, du point de vue des pères en couple et séparés, et son lien avec leur expérience parentale.

Incidence, prevalence, and mortality of localized scleroderma in Quebec, Canada: a population-based study

Perinatal risk factors for young adults to be not engaged in employment, education or training (NEET) and its mediators: longitudinal analysis of the QLSCD cohort study

In 2019, 31% and 14% of young women and men worldwide – respectively – reported being not engaged in employment, education, or training (NEET), an important indicator of long-term socioeconomic vulnerability. This study examined the developmental pathways leading to NEET status in young adulthood by investigating the association between perinatal adversities and NEET status and the mediating role of adolescent externalizing behaviours.
