The data made available by the Data Access Services are either administrative data or survey data.
- Administrative data are compiled in databases for management purposes by certain Québec government ministries and agencies in the fields of health, education, training, or income. These same ministries and agencies have designated some of these data to make them available to researchers.
- Survey data are non-aggregated, raw data obtained from the answers to questions asked in custom-designed surveys, mostly surveys by the Institut de la statistique du Québec and Statistics Canada.
