Data come from Statistics Canada’s Postsecondary Student Information System (PSIS), which covers all public and private not-for-profit postsecondary institutions that receive public funding in Canada.

In 2021, a record 69,990 degrees and diplomas were granted at the bachelor’s level or higher in Québec. The number of degrees granted was up by 11.8% from 2020 and reached a new high at all three levels.

In 2021, 29.5% of individuals aged 25 to 64 had a university degree in Québec, compared to 25.5% in 2016.

Its purpose is to present, compare and comment on a selection of recent data to illustrate the situation in Québec with respect to science, technology and innovation (STI) and to report on important developments related to the measurement of STI.

This study, based on the 2016 Census, provides a portrait of the population of university degree holders in Quebec and its administrative regions.

In 2016, nearly 3 out of 10 Quebecers had a university certificate, diploma or degree. Women are more likely than men to achieve university-level education (33% vs. 26%) or college-level education (21% vs. 17%). Men, on the other hand, are proportionally more likely to have completed vocational training.

This collection describes the current situation of Quebecers aged 15 to 29 and the patterns of this population over the last 20 years. Themes: health, education, citizen participation, employment and entrepreneurship.
