Graduates at the bachelor’s level or higher

In 2022, in Québec, the number of diplomas granted declined at all postsecondary education levels after record highs were reached in 2021. However, when compared with 2019—before the pandemic—the changes are generally positive, apart from a few exceptions.

At the bachelor’s level and higher, a total of 58,353 degrees were granted, 5.3% less than in 2021:

  • 41,358 at the undergraduate level (-2.4%)
  • 14,730 at the master’s level (-2.4%)
  • 2,265 at the doctoral level (-8.0%)

This publication also examines the gender distribution of university graduates by field of study.

The data come from Statistics Canada’s Postsecondary Student Information System (PSIS).
