About 75% of young people born in the late 1990s who were in college between the ages of 17 and 19 obtained a Diploma of College Studies or an Attestation of College Studies before age 28. Young people who experienced food insecurity at the age of 19, especially men, are less likely than others to have obtained a first college diploma.
This publication presents an analysis of the factors external to college institutions that are associated with obtaining a first college qualification before the age of 28. The data used for these analyses come from the first edition of the Québec Longitudinal Study of Child Development and the Ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur.
