Any member of a research team can register in the Research Zone and enter the required information in the data access request form.
However, only individuals eligible to file a request for access to research data can submit the final request. These individuals are the ones who will be responsible for the project. They must be attached to a Québec public body as part of a work or service contract with that body.
Applicants who are not attached to a Québec public body must submit their request in collaboration with an individual who meets the eligibility criteria and who is responsible for the project in Québec. The access request must be submitted by this individual.
Students who want to submit an access request must be accompanied by a professor who does research and is associated with a recognized public body in Québec. The access request must be submitted by this professor.
The Québec public body must meet the definition set out in the Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information (CQLR, chap. A-2.1, s. 3).
