The Institut de la statistique du Québec (ISQ) is the public agency responsible for providing reliable, objective and relevant statistics about Québec society.
The ISQ will start calling participants on October 1st so that they can answer a 25-minute questionnaire. You have nothing to prepare. If you are not available when we call, just let us know what time would be more convenient for you.
You were selected at random, just like thousands of other parents whose children are in 5-year-old kindergarten in 2026-2027.
This survey is conducted in accordance with the Act respecting the Institut de la statistique du Québec, and your contact information was obtained under this Act.
Your participation in the survey is voluntary, but important, because it will allow us to obtain a complete picture of children in 5-year-old kindergarten. Information about children’s family environment and preschool experiences will be linked with their level of development. All of this information will be used to adapt programs and services offered to children.
For quality and training purposes, telephone conversations with ISQ agents are recorded. If you do not want your conversation to be recorded, simply notify the agent at the beginning of the call.
The Act respecting the Institut de la statistique du Québec guarantees that your answers will be kept confidential and will only be used for statistical purposes.
All ISQ employees have been sworn in before a commissioner and are bound to maintain secrecy and confidentiality.
Your answers will be linked with data collected about your child in the Québec Survey of Child Development in Kindergarten (QSCDK), which will take place in the winter of 2027. The ISQ has entered into an agreement with the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS), the Ministère de l'Éducation (MEQ), the Ministère de la Famille (MFA), and the Lucie and André Chagnon Foundation (FLAC), to whom the data collected will be sent, except for the names of your family members, your address, and your phone number.
Your answers will be kept confidential and will only be used for statistical purposes.
Yes. The ethics committee appointed by the ISQ reviewed this survey to ensure it is conducted in a way that respects participants and protects their dignity.
