L’adaptation psychosociale et scolaire lors du passage au secondaire

This publication, based on data from the Québec Longitudinal Study of Child Development (QLSCD), looks at the changes in terms of psychosocial and school adjustment that take place between Grade 6 and the first year of secondary school among children born in Québec who followed a regular school path. It also shows whether these changes vary by sex, mother’s educational level, household income level, and having lived or not with both biological parents in Grade 6. Lastly, the fascicle highlights the links between certain characteristics of children at the start of their educational path, such as their level of physical, cognitive and socioemotional development, and the risk of dropping out among Secondary 1 students.
