    Summary of responsibilities

    Kitchen and cafeteria attendants perform simple tasks in a cafeteria or kitchen such as keeping the premises clean and equipment in good order, handling and carrying food and beverages, preparing food and providing counter service. They may provide service at a snack bar, act as cashiers or be responsible for the vending machines. Their main duties usually include preparing simple foods (peeling and chopping vegetables, cutting cheese and meats, etc.), helping set up, take down, clean and set up tables, and washing pots, dishes and utensils.
