    This study will enable us to collect reliable data on informal caregiving and how it impacts the health and well-being of caregivers. Whether or not you provide support to someone close to you, your answers will help us identify the actions to be taken to improve people’s quality of life.

    What is the Institut de la statistique du Québec?

    The Institut de la statistique du Québec (ISQ) is a government agency whose mission is to produce, analyze and disseminate official, objective, high-quality statistics on various aspects of Québec society.

    How do I participate in the study?

    To participate:

    If necessary, you can exit the questionnaire and return to finish it at another time.

    The ISQ will call those who have not submitted their online questionnaire to obtain their answers by telephone. If you are not available when we call, you can let us know what time would be more convenient for you.

    I tried to log into the questionnaire but got an error message. What should I do?

    You can contact the ISQ by telephone at 1-800-561-0213 or by email at soutenir@stat.gouv.qc.ca.

    Please mention the name of the study printed on your invitation letter, your name, your file number (found in the letter under your address), and your contact information.

    We will respond to your request within 24 hours during our office hours: Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

    Why was I selected?

    Your name was selected at random, just like that of several thousand other people in Québec, so that you can participate in the Québec Caregiving Study.

    This study is conducted in accordance with the Act respecting the Institut de la statistique du Québec, and your contact information was obtained under this Act.

    Are telephone conversations recorded?

    For quality and training purposes, telephone conversations with ISQ agents are recorded. If you don’t want your conversation to be recorded, simply notify the agent at the beginning of the call.

    What is the ISQ’s privacy policy?

    The Act respecting the Institut de la statistique du Québec guarantees that your answers will be kept confidential and will only be used for statistical purposes.

    All ISQ employees have been sworn in before a commissioner and are bound to maintain secrecy and confidentiality.

    Will you share my answers with other individuals or organizations?

    The ISQ has entered into an agreement with the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux, to whom the data collected will be sent, except for your name, address, and telephone number.

    Your answers will be kept confidential and will only be used for statistical purposes.

    Does the ISQ have an ethical framework?

    Yes. The ethics committee appointed by the ISQ reviewed the study to ensure it is conducted in a way that respects participants and protects their dignity.

    Can I complete the questionnaire for someone else?

    The questionnaire is personal and can only be completed by the person who was selected for the study.

    When can I see the results of this study?

    The results will be published in the form of highlights, tables and publications on the ISQ’s website in the spring of 2026.
