Preferences of families for regular childcare services

These tables on the preferences of families regarding regular childcare are based on data from the 2009 Survey on the Childcare Use, Needs and Preferences of Families. This survey aims to draw an up-to-date portrait of the use of different forms of childcare by Québec families with children under the age of 5, as well as their childcare needs and preferences.

In addition, this survey examines new topics such as parents’ satisfaction with certain aspects of childcare services, including the flexibility of childcare settings and the possible relationship between the use of childcare services and new government programs related to parental leave and the refundable childcare tax credit.

Lastly, by providing regional data, it supports the planning of childcare spaces.
