The land cover change matrix provides the net change in area from one land cover class to another between the 1990s, 2000s and 2010s. Statistics for the 1990s to the 2010s are available for 12 administrative regions: Bas-Saint-Laurent, Capitale-Nationale, Estrie, Montréal, Outaouais, Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine, Chaudière-Appalaches, Laval, Lanaudière, Laurentides, and Montérégie. The study area may be incomplete for certain regions (preliminary data); the study area and number of regions covered will evolve as the fifth ecoforestry inventory progresses.
