Summary of responsibilities
Maintenance electricians install, repair and maintain electrical systems connected to public electrical distribution networks. More specifically, they install, connect, modify, repair and maintain all conduction systems, detect and troubleshoot electrical problems, install electrical entries of all voltages and amperages, and assemble distribution panels.
Education requirement
Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) with a specialization in construction electricity, or the equivalent recognized by the appropriate authority
Condition of employment
Hold or be in the process to obtain a competency certificate (licence A or C) issued by the Ministre du Travail, de l'Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale or by the Commission de la construction du Québec
Minimum experience generally required by level of complexity
- Level 1: None
- Level 2: 4 years
- Level 3: 6 years
