Summary of responsibilities
Maintenance carpenters perform a variety of repair, alteration, finishing and other work according to plans and specifications, or build, modify and repair woodwork and decorative objects. They build, repair and maintain wood or metal structures and structural components by manual or mechanical means, and set and dismantle concrete forms.
Education requirement
Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) with a specialization in carpentry and woodworking, or the equivalent recognized by the appropriate authority
Condition of employment
Preferably, a competency certificate in carpentry and woodworking
Minimum experience generally required by level of complexity
