    Summary of responsibilities

    Documentation technicians perform work of a technical nature related to cataloguing, classification, bibliographic research and loans, generally under the direction of the person responsible for the administration of the library or documentation centre. They carry out specialized inventory work, use current cataloguing principles to enter on index cards the information necessary to identify and describe works, and participate in the evaluation, retention and disposal of books and other documents.

    Education requirement

    Diploma of College Studies (DEC) with a specialization in documentation or the equivalent recognized by the appropriate authority
