Type of survey
Cross-sectional survey; provincial, regional and local representativeness for certain results.
Targeted population
Children attending 5-year-old kindergarten on the territory of the Montréal Island in 2011-2012, residing on the Montréal Island and who participated in the Québec Survey of Child Development in Kindergarten (QSCDK). Children recognized as students with handicaps, social maladjustments or learning difficulties (SHSMLD) are excluded.
Sample
2,983 children.
Themes
Pre-school experiences of children; factors that are conducive or not to the use of early childhood services and reasons for not attending childcare; socioeconomic and employment characteristics of parents; living conditions and social support of families; resources and level of security in the neighbourhood.
