To participate in the survey
- Go to: statistique.quebec.ca/e236e
- Enter your identifier;
- Create a password; and
- Complete the online questionnaire.
Since most questions require searching for information, we strongly suggest that you start by filling out the paper version of the questionnaire, which can be accessed by clicking on the link received in your email.
If necessary, you can exit the questionnaire and return to finish it at a more convenient time.
The Institut de la statistique du Québec will call the participants who have not submitted their online questionnaire to obtain their answers by telephone.

For quality and training purposes, telephone interviews with the Institut de la statistique du Québec agents are recorded. If you don’t want the interview to be recorded, simply notify the agent at the beginning of the call.
Your campground is on the list of campgrounds provided to us by the Ministère du Tourisme du Québec. This is a census survey, meaning that campground owners in all regions of Québec are being asked to participate in the survey.
Yes. As set out in section 11 of the Act respecting the Institut de la statistique du Québec, the Chief Statistician has the right to determine which requests for information are to be considered mandatory if he deems that such information is necessary to produce reliable statistics. It was determined by the Chief Statistician that this survey should be mandatory.
As a result, you are legally obligated to fill out the survey. Under this Act, any person receiving a request for information by the Institut de la statistique du Québec to which a reply is mandatory must provide the information requested by the prescribed deadline and in the prescribed format.
The data collected from survey participants will allow the Ministère du Tourisme to obtain the most accurate portrait possible of Québec campground occupancy rates. The survey results will be the only official figures available on the Québec camping industry.

The Act respecting the Institut de la statistique du Québec guarantees that the information you provide will be kept confidential and will only be used for statistical purposes. All those working at the Institut de la statistique du Québec have been sworn in before a commissioner and are bound to maintain secrecy and confidentiality.
The survey results will be shared with the Ministère du Tourisme, which will then produce a report on campground occupancy rates that will help support the development of the camping industry. However, no individual data will be provided to the Ministère. All results will be aggregated to protect the anonymity of respondents.
