Infant Feeding and Maternal Well-Being Survey in Eeyou Istchee 2026-2027

Have you received an invitation to participate? Please complete the questionnaire.
Please note that the questionnaire must be completed before your baby reaches 7 months of age.

This survey aims to collect information about infant feeding and breastfeeding in Eeyou Istchee, as well as mothers’ lifestyle habits and well-being. The Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB), in collaboration with the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS), has mandated the Institut de la statistique du Québec (ISQ) to conduct this survey in Eeyou Istchee.

What is the Institut de la statistique du Québec?

The Institut de la statistique du Québec is the public agency responsible for providing reliable, objective and relevant statistics about Québec society.

How do I participate in the survey?

  • go to the questionnaire at statistique.quebec.ca/baby;
  • enter your identifier;
  • create a personal password;
  • complete the online questionnaire.

If necessary, you may leave the questionnaire and return to it later.

If you have not submitted your online questionnaire, a Cree interviewer will follow up by telephone. If you are unavailable when called, you may indicate a more convenient time.

I tried to log in to the questionnaire but got an error message. What should I do?

Why were you selected?

The survey is conducted under the Act respecting the Institut de la statistique du Québec; your contact information was obtained in accordance with this Act.

Is participation mandatory?

Your participation is voluntary, but important. Your answers will help the CBHSSJB Public Health Department produce quality statistics needed by the CBHSSJB and other organizations in Eeyou Istchee to develop programs and services that support the health of babies and their mothers.

Are telephone conversations recorded?

For quality assurance and training purposes, telephone conversations with agents of the Institut de la statistique du Québec are recorded. If you do not wish the conversation to be recorded, you may indicate your refusal at the beginning of the call.

What is the Institut de la statistique du Québec’s privacy policy?

The Act respecting the Institut de la statistique du Québec guarantees that the answers you provide will remain confidential and will be used for statistical purposes only.

All persons working at the Institut have taken an oath before a commissioner and are bound by confidentiality obligations.

Will the answers you provide be shared with other persons or organizations?

Your answers will remain confidential and will be used for statistical purposes only. Your answers will never be used to conduct interventions or make decisions about you, your family or your children.

Please note that under the agreement between the CBHSSJB and the ISQ, the ISQ recognizes the importance of the First Nations principles of Ownership, Control, Access and Possession (OCAP®) and undertakes to respect them to the extent permitted by the legislative framework governing its activities.
