Our main objective with this study is to better understand the factors that influence children’s development and well-being. Growing Up in Québec will serve to produce informative statistics on the needs of Québec children and families so that social policies and programs can be better adapted to their reality.

The Institut de la statistique du Québec is a government agency whose mission is to produce, analyze and disseminate official, objective and quality statistics on various aspects of Québec society.
It’s a study that follows the same people over time. The information collected allows us to better understand changes in living situations, the development (or non-development) of certain behaviours, and the various transitions experienced.

The questionnaire includes questions on the activities done by the child, their behaviour, their relationships with peers, your relationship with them, as well as your practices and experience as a teacher.
Your school gave us your contact details. We obtained the authorization of the parents before contacting you.
Your participation in this study is voluntary, but important, because it will help us to learn more about the living situation of the child you care for, and therefore to better understand the development of Québec children.
Your participation as a teacher is important: thanks to you, we will be able to collect information on certain aspects of the child’s life that their parents may be less familiar with. You are well positioned to answer questions about certain activities done by the child, as well as how the child behaves in school. Your answers will add to the study by providing information about the child’s experiences in school.
