By taking health-related factors into account, this article aims to further the analysis of literacy skills in Québec, the results of which are presented in the Québec report of the 2003 International Adult Literacy and Skills Survey (IALSS). After a brief description of the measurements used, a general profile of the population aged 16 to 65 is drawn up. This is followed by an analysis of literacy skills according to physical health status and a comparison of results across provinces. Finally, a review of the particular situation of seniors is presented.
