Utilisation et préférences des familles quant à la garde régulière de leurs jeunes enfants selon l’indice de défavorisation

The monograph Utilisation et préférences des familles quant à la garde régulière de leurs jeunes enfants selon l’indice de défavorisation examines several themes regarding child care arrangements for pre-school children according to five categories of the index of material and social deprivation (IMSD).

It looks at the various reasons why parents use child care, the main reasons given by parents for not having their children in child care, child care use according to age of children, the main type of child care arrangements used, the child care plan ($7-a-day child care services), and the degree of match between the type of child care used and the type wanted. Also studied are satisfaction with the primary type of child care arrangement used and parents’ regular child care preferences.

All the findings were obtained from the 2009 Survey on Childcare Use, Needs and Preferences of Families.
