In 2019, nearly 6% of seniors living at home in Québec reported having experienced at least one type of mistreatment in the previous 12 months, representing 78,900 people. 

This report presents the results of a survey on elder mistreatment conducted in 2019 with 8,860&nbsp;individuals aged 65&nbsp;and over living at home who were able to answer a telephone questionnaire on their own. The report provides a portrait of material/financial, psychological, physical, and sexual abuse experienced by seniors in Qu&eacute;bec in the 12&nbsp;months preceding the survey. It contains statistical information concerning the overall prevalence of mistreatment and the prevalence of each type of mistreatment studied. In addition, it provides information on the factors associated with the different types of mistreatment, on the characteristics of the abusers, and on the actions seniors have taken after experiencing mistreatment.

This report describes the methodology used in the&nbsp;Survey on Elder Abuse in Qu&eacute;bec 2019. It details several aspects of the survey, including the sample design, data collection procedure, and data processing. The scope and limits of the survey are also presented.
