Santé physique et habitudes de vie chez les jeunes issus de l’immigration

This newsletter focuses on the physical health and lifestyle habits of young people with an immigrant background. Based on data from the 2010–2011 Québec Health Survey of High School Students, a large-scale survey of more than 65,000 young Quebecers, this publication shows the differences and similarities between young people with an immigrant background and those with two Canadian-born parents.

To facilitate comprehension of the scope of the data, a profile of young people (geographic distribution, socio-demographic and socio-economic characteristics) is first drawn up. Findings regarding their physical health (perceived health and weight status) and lifestyle (physical activity, smoking, alcohol and drug use, sexual behaviour) are then presented.
