Industrie finance et assurances : comparaison interprovinciale des principaux indicateurs économiques

The objective of the publication Industrie finance et assurances : comparaison interprovinciale des principaux indicateurs économiques, édition 2018 is to group all the statistics available on the subject within a single cover.

In this publication you will find payroll employment and gross domestic product (GDP) data. Also in it are the geographic concentration index and the index of the comparative level of labour productivity in the finance and insurance industry. This data is presented by major sector of that industry for Canada, Québec, Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia.

The data sources used are from Statistics Canada but the Institut de la statistique du Québec did the compilations and developed the geographic concentration and labour productivity indexes.

The 2017 update includes payroll employment and GDP reviews. It should also be noted that the GDP data for 2017 are preliminary and will be revised in January 2019.
