    A health profile of the Cree. Report of the Santé Québec survey of the James Bay Cree, 1991

    The report of the survey conducted in 1991 in the James Bay region presents portraits and statistics on the general health status of the Cree population in this region.

    The report addresses several major health-related themes: lifestyle habits, social environment and social problems, health status, trauma and risk factors, and mental health. In addition, a chapter specifically focuses on certain determinants of cardiovascular health.

    The target population of the survey comprises all persons living in Aboriginal private households who are part of the nine Cree communities in the James Bay region. Within the 354 households that responded to the survey (household questionnaire), a total of 1,161 individuals aged 15 and over completed an individual questionnaire.
