Québec Health Survey of High School Students, 2010-2011

This first publication based on data from the Québec Health Survey of High School Students 2010-2011 provides a province-wide picture of certain aspects of the physical health and lifestyle habits of high school students. The topics covered include eating habits, physical activity, weight and body image, tobacco, alcohol and drug use, sexual behaviours, and perceived health status. These initial results will doubtlessly help advance knowledge on the physical health of adolescents and support actions to improve it.

The target population of the survey included all students in Secondary 1 through 5 enrolled in French- and English-language, public and private high schools in Québec, except for students in schools located in the regions of Terres-Cries-de-la-Baie-James and Nunavik. In total, 63,196 students from 16 health regions in Québec took part in this large survey.
