Banque de données Léo-Ernest-Ouimet

The Léo-Ernest-Ouimet (LEO) database, which is updated daily, contains an aggregate of the figures obtained from movie theatre operators. Findings therefore depend on the regular transmission of these data. Under the Cinema Act, movie theatre operators must participate in the survey carried out by the Observatoire de la culture et des communications of the Institut de la statistique du Québec.

The complete results (number of screenings and admissions) for a film still in theatres will not be available until six weeks following the end of its run, as this is the time required to obtain and process the data received from all operators exhibiting that film. Consequently, the LEO database does not provide real-time data for a film that is still in theatres.
