Québec, January 31, 2020. – Every year, the Institut de la statistique du Québec publishes the Profil sectoriel de l’industrie bioalimentaire au Québec. This publication, prepared jointly by the Institut de la statistique du Québec and the Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation du Québec, includes more than 200 tables and figures and is a reference tool for those interested in the biofood industry.
This edition of the Profil sectoriel illustrates the evolution of Québec’s biofood industry from 2015 to 2018 based on various sources of data. It provides information on the industry’s main economic indicators as well as detailed statistics on agricultural production, fishing, aquaculture, processing, distribution, food services, consumption, and international trade. It covers animal and crop productions and includes comparisons between Québec, Canada and the United States.
