Résultats de l’Enquête sur la rémunération globale au Québec

Montréal, July 10, 2024. – The Institut de la statistique du Québec released today the publication Résultats de l’Enquête sur la rémunération globale au Québec for 2023. In this survey, data were collected from multiple private and public businesses with 200 or more employees. These data provide information on the salaries, hours of work and salary scales of more than 816,000 employees.

Results for the public sector are broken down into five categories:

  • Québec government (Québec public service and public education and health and social services networks)
  • Municipal governments (municipalities with a population of 25,000 or more)
  • Federal government in Québec
  • Universities
  • Government business enterprises in all three levels of government

Results for the private sector are broken down by:

  • Business size
  • Presence or absence of a union

The data from this survey also serve as a basis for the report Rémunération des salariés – État et évolution comparés, which compares the total compensation of Québec government employees with that of other Québec employees. That report will be released, as usual, at the end of November, but will be based on new data collected in 2024.
