Québec, June 1, 2026. – In 2025, Québec movie theatres recorded 11.5 million admissions, down 15% from 2024 (13.5 million) and 39% from 2019 (18.7 million), the pre-pandemic reference year.

After an increase in 2024, the number of screenings declined by 19% in 2025 and was 27% below the 2019 level. Québec films down

Following an exceptional year in 2024, the market share of Québec films in theatrical attendance decreased by six percentage points to 9% (15% in 2024). Only two Québec films—Menteuse and Ma belle-mère est une sorcière—generated more than $1 million in revenues, which explains the decline from 2024, as five Québec films surpassed the million-dollar mark that year. These two films alone brought in $3.3 million in revenues, more than a third of the total revenues for Québec films in 2025.
