Québec’s international merchandise exports up 3.4% in November 2025


Québec, February 12, 2026. – Québec’s international merchandise exports, seasonally adjusted and in constant dollars, were up 3.4% in November 2025 from the previous month (-4.9% in October). This finding comes from the most recent international merchandise trade data for Québec released today by the Institut de la statistique du Québec.

The products that contributed the most to this monthly growth are aircraft (+41.4%), diesel and biodiesel fuels (+62.6%), light fuel oils (+256.3%), and unwrought aluminum and aluminum alloys (+11.7%).

The products whose exports decreased in November include buses and special-purpose vehicles (-67.0%), heavy fuel oils (-63.0%), nickel ores and concentrates (-86.9%), and light-duty trucks, vans and sport utility vehicles, without electric motor (-30.0%).

Exports in the first eleven months of 2025 were down 5.1% from the same period in 2024.

Exports to the United States

Québec’s exports to the United States in the first eleven months of 2025, non-seasonally adjusted and in current dollars, were down 7.9% compared with the same months of 2024. On the same basis and over the same period, exports to other countries (except the United States) were up 9.8%. As a result, total exports—including to the United States—were down 3.2%.

Québec’s international merchandise imports up 5.2% in November 2025

Québec’s international merchandise imports, seasonally adjusted and in constant dollars, were up 5.2% in November 2025 from October (-0.7% in October).

The products that contributed the most to this increase in imports were pharmaceutical and medicinal products (+47.1%), basic and semi-finished products of non-ferrous metals and non-ferrous metal alloys, except gold, silver, platinum group metals and aluminum (+334.1%), lubricants and other petroleum refinery products (+308.7%), and nickel ores and concentrates, whose exports were very low in October 2025.

In contrast, imports of certain products were down in November. This was the case for conventional crude oil (-48.8%), bauxite and aluminum oxide (-26.1%), light-duty trucks, vans and sport utility vehicles, without electric motor (-7.5%), as well as waste and scrap of non-ferrous metals (-56.8%).

Imports in the first eleven months of 2025 were up 5.6% compared with the same months of 2024.

The situation in Canada

According to data published by Statistics Canada on January 29, 2026, Canada’s seasonally adjusted merchandise exports in constant dollars declined by 0.1% in November 2025 from the previous month. Meanwhile, imports were up 1.0%.

For the first eleven months of 2025, Canada’s merchandise exports decreased by 1.4% from the same period in 2024, while its imports rose by 0.2%.
