Québec, June 18, 2021. – The Institut de la statistique du Québec released today an analysis of how Québec businesses continue to adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic in the second quarter of 2021 and how they see the future.
It covers the following topics:
- Businesses’ short-term expectations regarding certain indicators (profitability, sales, number of employees, price of the goods and services offered, etc.)
- Liquidity and debt capacity
- Short-term survival prospects
- Short-term obstacles to be overcome
- The existence of recovery, transfer or sale plans
- The permanent adoption of e-learning, certain technologies and e-commerce

The results come from the Canadian Survey on Business Conditions, second quarter of 2021, conducted by Statistics Canada from April 1 to May 6, 2021. This edition is based on a probabilistic approach and only covers businesses with employees. For Québec, the results are based on the responses of 5,077 businesses.
