The information collected will be used to produce hourly rate ranges that are representative of what is charged on the market for architecture and engineering services related to construction work in Québec.

The Institut de la statistique du Québec (ISQ) is a government agency whose mission is to produce, analyze and disseminate official, objective and quality statistics on various aspects of Québec society.
- Preliminary stage
First, we will ask you to provide the contact information of the person in your business who will be able to answer the study questionnaire, which covers the following topics: Profile of the firm, Fee policy – Engineering services, Fee policy – Architecture services. We will also ask you to confirm some information. This preliminary stage will only take a few minutes.
To do so, you simply have to:
- Go to the form at: statistique.quebec.ca/e444e;
- Enter the identifier printed on the letter you received.
An e-mail will be sent to the person you have identified so they can complete the questionnaire. This person will have a few weeks to complete it.
- Questionnaire to be completed
To access the study questionnaire, the person identified will have to:
- Go to statistique.quebec.ca/e444e
- Enter the identifier provided in the e-mail they received or on the invitation letter sent to the business.
- Create a password.
They can then start completing the study. If necessary, they can exit the questionnaire and come back to it later.
The Institut de la statistique du Québec will call the persons who have not submitted their online questionnaire to obtain their answers by telephone. If they are not available when we call, they can let us know what time would be more convenient for them.

As set out in section 11 of the Act respecting the Institut de la statistique du Québec, the Chief Statistician has the right to determine which requests for information are to be considered mandatory if he deems that such information is necessary to produce reliable statistics. It was determined by the Chief Statistician that this study should be mandatory.
As a result, your business is legally obligated to take part in the study. Under the Act respecting the Institut de la statistique du Québec, anyone asked to provide the Institut with information deemed mandatory must do so by the prescribed deadline and in the prescribed format.
