What is the average number of days of annual leave, statutory holidays and floating holidays in businesses with 200 or more employees?

    That is the question that this analysis answers. Results are presented by sector (public/private), unionization, business size, and National Occupational Classification (NOC) skill level. 

    Highlights:

    • In 2018, the average length of annual leave was about 20 days per year in businesses with 200 or more employees in Québec.
    • The average number of statutory and floating holidays was 12.3 per year in these businesses overall.
    • Employees in the public sector had more vacation than those in the private sector—4 more days on average.
    • Unionized employees had nearly 3 more vacation days than non-unionized employees.
