Tables from the Survey of Innovation and Business Strategy

These tables show the main results for Québec from Statistics Canada’s Survey of Innovation and Business Strategy.

Changes were made to the definition of innovation in the 2019 edition of the survey, which is why tables show data starting from that reference year.

Innovation consists in:

  • Introducing on the market a new or improved good or service that differs significantly from the goods or services previously offered.
  • Implementing a new or improved business process that differs significantly from the processes previously used.
Federal-provincial partnership to improve the quality of estimates

As part of the Survey of Innovation and Business Strategy 2019, the Institut de la statistique du Québec was joined by Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions; Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada; and the Ministère de l’Économie et de l’Innovation du Québec in funding an additional sample of businesses headquartered in Québec in order to improve the quality of estimates.

As part of the Survey of Innovation and Business Strategy 2022, the Institut de la statistique du Québec was joined by Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions; Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada; the Ministère de l’Économie, de l’Innovation et de l’Énergie du Québec; the Ministère de l’Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale du Québec; the Commission des partenaires du marché du travail; and the Conseil de l’innovation du Québec in funding an additional sample of businesses headquartered in Québec in order to improve the quality of estimates.
