Rapport de l'enquête sur la rémunération et certaines conditions de travail des employés de l'industrie du vêtement au Québec

The ISQ was given a mandate to conduct a survey of working conditions in the clothing industry. The investigation therefore had to cover the entire industry as well as reflect the situation of employees who were not necessarily industry regulated.

The survey was conducted using samples of establishments that were divided by order of size (1 to 19 employees, 20 to 99 employees, 100 + employees) and selected randomly from the StatsCan Business Register Database. The survey covered four job categories including machine cutters, pressers, machine operators and other production employees, and gathered information on wage provisions, typical workweeks, paid holidays and annual vacation time.
