Using data from the 2008 Québec Population Health Survey, this publication outlines some characteristics and indicators of the health and well-being of seniors living in private households. Among other things, these data provide an opportunity to show that seniors are not a homogeneous group and that it is usually important to divide them into subgroups (65- to 74-year-olds and 75-year-olds and over, in this case). The selected indicators of health and well-being, i.e., perceived health status, satisfaction with one’s social life, and psychological distress, are analyzed to determine whether there are differences between younger (65- to 74-year-olds) and older (75 and over) seniors. Bivariate analyses are also conducted to observe the characteristics associated with the selected indicators.
