L’innovation dans le secteur de la fabrication au Québec entre 2010 et 2012

The importance of innovation has been clearly recognized; therefore measuring innovation is crucial to both enterprises and policy makers. In order to obtain recent data on innovation processes in Québec enterprises, the Institut de la statistique du Québec created a consortium to acquire the oversampled Québec data from Statistics Canada’s Survey of Innovation and Business Strategy, 2012.

The survey report on innovation in the manufacturing sector comprises five chapters and three appendices. Chapter 1 draws a general portrait of innovation in all manufacturing sectors. The second chapter focuses on technological innovation, i.e. product and process innovation, while the third chapter is about non-technological innovation, i.e. organizational and marketing innovation. Chapters 4 and 5 address themes that are complementary to innovation: the tools enterprises use to innovate as well as the barriers they face.
