Les titulaires d'un grade universitaire et les personnes qui exercent une profession scientifique et technique. Évolution au Québec et comparaisons au sein du Canada, de 1996 à 2001

This study focuses on two groups of human resources in science and technology (HRST): university degree holders and those working in a science and technology occupation. It is based on data from the 1996 and 2001 censuses and describes and comments on the trends of these populations by sex and age, and, in the case of HRST university degree holders, by situation with regard to the labour market. The study compares Québec to Canada and three other provinces (Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia) as well as the Montréal census metropolitan area (CMA) to the other major CMAs (Toronto and Vancouver). It also points out the characteristics and trends in Québec of the two HRST groups by administrative region.
