Les régimes complémentaires de retraite : concepts et données générales

The objective of this report is to present the conceptual framework of supplemental pension plans set up in businesses. First, it gives the portrait of the Canadian retirement income replacement system, and then it focuses on the legislative, administrative, and financial aspects of private pensions.

Statistical data on all pension plans with at least one member from Québec and the plans monitored by the Régie des rentes du Québec are also presented.

The information in this report provides the general public, unions, employers, and other labour market players with an overall portrait of private pension plans.
