Data related to childhood experiences of violence were collected from respondents 18 years of age and older through the 2012 Canadian Community Health Survey–Mental Health. Pan-Canadian analyses using these data have linked experiences of violence in childhood and adolescence to indicators of mental health status in adulthood. Based on the data from this survey, this bulletin presents a portrait of the situation in Québec. It examines not only the links between victimization experiences in childhood and mental health problems in adulthood, but also the links between such experiences and physical health problems.
