Québec survey on total compensation
Notice of release
Montréal, August 31, 2023. – The Institut de la statistique du Québec released today the publication Résultats de l’Enquête sur la rémunération globale au Québec for 2022.
This publication provides a wide range of data on wages, hours of work and total compensation (which takes into account various benefits) for Québec employees working for different levels of government or for businesses with 200 or more employees.
Results for the public sector are broken down into five categories:
- Québec government (Québec public service and public education and health and social services networks)
- Municipal governments (municipalities with a population of 25,000 or more)
- Federal government in Québec
- Universities
- Government business enterprises in all three levels of government
Results for the private sector are broken down by business size and the presence or absence of a union.
The survey data also serve as a basis for the report Rémunération des salariés – État et évolution comparés, which compares the total compensation of Québec government employees with that of other Québec employees. That report will be released, as usual, at the end of November, but will be based on new data collected in 2023.
The Institut de la statistique du Québec produces, analyzes and disseminates official, objective and quality statistical information on various aspects of Québec society. It is responsible for conducting all statistical surveys of general interest. The relevance of its work makes it a strategic ally for decision makers and all those wishing to learn more about Québec.
