Québec, September 9, 2026. – Nearly 23,000 marriages were registered in Québec in 2025, comparable to 23,066 in 2024. Overall, this number has changed little since the early 2000s.

- Marriage rates remain low: only 26% of men and 29% of women would marry at least once before their 50th birthday if 2025 nuptiality behaviours were to continue.
- The average age at first marriage was 33.2 years for men and 31.7 years for women, down slightly from the previous year in both cases.
- Among all marriages, 97% were between a man and a woman, and 3% were between two men or two women. These percentages are rather stable.
- Nearly half of couples who got married (47%) included at least one person born abroad, a proportion that has been trending up.
- Ministers of religion continue to perform the most marriages—nearly 35%—followed closely by designated officiants (28%).
- The last three Saturdays of August and the first Saturday of September were the most popular days for getting married.
