Presentation at the 2022 Public Health conference

A few of the study’s preliminary results were presented during the 2022 Public Health conference. These results focused on food insecurity and youth well-being one year into the COVID-19 pandemic.
- In the winter of 2021, about 1 in 5 young adults were experiencing food insecurity, meaning that they were not eating quality food, did not have enough food, or were worried about their food intake due to a lack of money.
- Anxiety affected 25% of all young adults, but among those experiencing food insecurity, this proportion reached 45%, or nearly 1 in 2 young people.

Presentation at the Acfas

As part of the Acfas conference, two members of the I am, I’ll be team gave a presentation entitled Generalized anxiety among postsecondary students before and during the COVID-19 pandemic in Québec.
The following facts were presented:
- During the winter of 2021, nearly 43% of young people were pursuing postsecondary studies. Among them, 17% were in CEGEP and 83% in university.
- No difference was found between the level of generalized anxiety among young adults who were attending a postsecondary institution during the pandemic and those who were not.
