Your name was selected at random for the Québec Cannabis Study 2023 (QCS2023), just like that of more than 25,000 Québecers. This study covers all persons aged 15 and over and is aimed at both non-users and users of cannabis.
The personal information required for the study, including your contact information, was obtained in accordance with the Act respecting the Institut de la statistique du Québec, which guarantees that it will be kept confidential.
Your participation is voluntary, but important, since it will allow us to obtain an accurate statistical portrait of cannabis use in Québec. The MSSS will therefore be able to better meet the needs of the population in terms of health protection and prevention.
For quality and training purposes, telephone calls with Statistique Québec agents are recorded. However, if you don't want the call to be recorded, simply notify the agent at the beginning of the call.
The Act respecting the Institut de la statistique du Québec guarantees that the information you provide will be kept confidential and will only be used for statistical purposes. All Statistique Québec employees have taken an oath before a commissioner and are bound to maintain the secrecy and confidentiality of the data they collect.
Statistique Québec has signed an agreement with the ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS), to whom the information collected will be sent, with the exception of your name, address, and telephone number.
Yes. The study was reviewed by the ethics committee appointed by Statistique Québec. The ethics committee is responsible for safeguarding the respect, dignity and integrity of those participating or included in the study.
The questionnaire is personal and can only be filled out by the person who was selected for the study.
In accordance with the Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information, the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec has informed the Institut de la statistique du Québec that an information letter must be sent to the parents or guardians of any minor participating in our study. However, if you have just reached the age of majority, your parents may also have received a letter. This sometimes happens because ages are calculated based on participants’ year and month of birth only.
You can call Statistique Québec toll-free at 1 866-390-5367.
